Research fields
The Tritium Laboratory Karlsruhe (TLK is a global unique facility. Since more than 30 years techniques und competences are being developped in order to master the demanding challenges in research, handling and processing of tritium on industrial scale.
Here at KIT the yet largest tritium source for neutrino mass experiments has been erected and is being succesfully operated since 2018.
Key components of the DT-fuel cycle for fusion applications are being developped at TLK and form the back bone of the closed trtium cycle which can supply all experiments with pure tritium und recover polluted gas streams.
In the following the main research fields are presented
